A cozy town that lives by your real clock

Teul is a fully offline life sim in pixel-art isometry. You move into Lypove (Липове), a small Ukrainian town that lives by your device's real calendar and clock. The townsfolk go to work, the market opens in the morning, the lanterns come on at dusk, and the seasons, holidays and full moons are the real ones.

What awaits you in Lypove

• A whole town. Streets, a square with market stalls, a lake with a beach and a park, and more than thirty interiors to walk into: the school, the hospital, the café, the bar, the church, the newsroom, the radio station, the cinema, shops and workshops.
• Eight maps around it. The Whispering Forest, the wheat field, the farm, the cemetery, the scrapyard, the hippodrome, the vineyard and the cave. Some open only once you have earned your way in.
• Your home. Start in one room and grow it into a house with a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom, a garden and a greenhouse. A full editor for walls, floors, light and furniture, and a pet that lives with you.
• Townsfolk with lives. More than a hundred residents with daily schedules, moods, friendships and warmth toward you. They fall ill, grow older, have children, and talk about what happened in town.
• The newspaper. “The Lypove Herald” arrives every morning with the town's news, photographs and the requests people have for you.
• Everyday life. Shifts at the town's places, a garden that grows over real days, monthly bills, cooking at the stove, crafting at a workbench, clothes and the salon.
• On the road. The driving school, a licence, your own car, and a taxi priced by distance, minutes and demand.
• Things to do. Board games, musical instruments and records, the radio and the TV, races at the hippodrome, holidays with their preparations.
• Rifts. On the equinoxes and solstices the world cracks open for a day into rift worlds, and in winter into “Lypove inside out”.

Spooky nights are off by default. Torch-lit crowds, masked figures and a chase on the old feasts' nights appear only if you switch them on (Settings → “Eerie holidays”). There is no gore, and every scene can be left.

Private by design

No accounts, no servers, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your world lives only on your device, sealed with a key that never leaves it. It moves to another device only as an encrypted backup file you make yourself (Settings → Backup).

Accessibility

Text size (the whole interface scales), high contrast, reduced motion, colour-blind-safe cues, bigger touch targets, a plain readable font for long texts, captions for the sounds that matter, a smaller or larger HUD, remappable keys, the joystick on either side, and vibration on or off.

Saves and updates

• A newer version always opens the saves of every older one, and downloads install over the old version and keep your world.
• In the browser, your world is kept in your browser's storage for itch.io. Updates of this page keep it, but clearing site data or a private window loses it, so make a backup now and then (Settings → Backup).
• If your browser blocks all third-party cookies and site data, the game cannot save inside this page. It will tell you what to do: allow site data for itch.io, play the version on GitHub Pages, or download it.

System requirements

• Browser: a current Firefox, Chrome, Edge or Safari; about 21 MB to load; landscape.
• Windows: 10 or 11, 64-bit. The installer is not code-signed: in SmartScreen choose “More info” → “Run anyway”.
• Linux: x86-64. The AppImage needs FUSE (chmod +x, then run); the .deb is for Debian, Ubuntu and their relatives.
• Android: 7.0 or newer with an up-to-date Android System WebView. The app asks for no camera, microphone, location or contacts.

Open source

Teul is built with a deterministic Rust core compiled to WebAssembly and a TypeScript renderer. The source code, issues and every release with its checksums are on GitHub.

The code is free software under the GNU AGPL-3.0-or-later. The game's original content (maps, texts, names, music, art) is under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. The names Teul / Теул and Lypove / Липове, the icon and the title art are the game's brand. Fonts: Pixelify Sans, Nunito, Tiny5 (SIL OFL 1.1). Music recorded with the GeneralUser GS SoundFont by S. Затишна гра про життя в піксельній ізометрії, що працює повністю офлайн. Ви переїжджаєте в Липове, невелике українське містечко, яке живе за справжнім календарем і годинником вашого пристрою. Мешканці йдуть на роботу, зранку відкривається ринок, у сутінках засвічуються ліхтарі, а пори року, свята й повня — справжні.

• Ціле містечко: вулиці, площа з ринковими ятками, озеро з пляжем і парком і понад тридцять приміщень: школа, лікарня, кав'ярня, бар, костел, редакція, радіо, кінотеатр, крамниці й майстерні.
• Вісім мап довкола: Шепітливий ліс, пшеничне поле, ферма, кладовище, звалище, іподром, виноградник і печера.
• Ваш дім: від однієї кімнати до будинку з кухнею, спальнею, садом і оранжереєю; повний редактор інтер'єру й улюбленець, який живе з вами.
• Мешканці зі своїм життям: понад сотня людей із розкладами, настроями й дружбою. Вони хворіють, старішають, народжують дітей і говорять про новини містечка.
• Газета «Липовий вісник» щоранку приносить новини, фотографії й прохання людей до вас.
• Життя: робота, город, що росте справжніми днями, рахунки, готування, рукоділля, одяг і салон; автошкола, права, власне авто й таксі.
• Дозвілля: настільні ігри, музичні інструменти й платівки, радіо й телевізор, перегони на іподромі, свята.
• Розломи: на рівнодення й сонцестояння світ на день розколюється у світи розломів, а взимку — у «Липове навиворіт».

Моторошні ночі типово вимкнені. Натовп із факелами, постаті в масках і погоня з'являються, лише якщо ви ввімкнете їх у налаштуваннях («Моторошні свята»). Крові немає, і з кожної сцени можна піти.

Приватність: без облікових записів, серверів, реклами, аналітики й стеження. Світ живе лише на вашому пристрої й переходить на інший лише як зашифрована резервна копія, яку ви робите самі.

Збереження: нова версія завжди відкриває старі збереження. У браузері світ зберігається в сховищі для itch.io, тож час від часу робіть резервну копію (Налаштування → Резервна копія). Якщо браузер блокує всі сторонні дані сайтів, гра підкаже, що робити, або грайте на GitHub Pages.
